Albania
Forest fires continue to burn in the north and northwest of the country. Arequest for international assistence is still active.

This map illustrates satellite-detected fire locations over the affected areas of Albania. These site locations represent all active fires as detected by the MODIS Aqua and Terra satellites between the dates of 25 to 31 July 2007. This is a preliminary analysis and has not yet been validated in the field.

Greece
All fires in the north of Greece were extinguished by heavy showers duringthe night of 6 August 2007.
Croatia
A fire front with more than 20 km was threatening the surroundings of thecity of Dubrovnik since 4 August 2007. Approximately 500 ha are burnt so far andthe fires could be brought under control. At least 20 persons were injured and 1firefighter was severly injured.
