The forestry Agency has warned about the elevated risk of forest fires in the Russian regions

RUSSIA – Specialists of the Federal forestry Agency warned of higher risks of forest fires, combustion is possible in a number of Russian regions. The projections are for the period from April to October 2020 and is based on the calculations of the hydrometeorological center of the Russian Federation.

The projection had taken into account the long-term average indicators of fire provided by the “Avialesookhrana”. The emphasis is on Siberia and the Far East, Buryatia, Baikal, Khabarovsk and Altai edges. The risk area also includes the Eastern and southern part of Tuva, South-West of the Irkutsk region, East of the Jewish Autonomous region and the North-West of Primorski Krai. According to experts ‘ forecasts, forest fires are possible in the South of Chelyabinsk, Tyumen and Kurgan regions, and the same applies to the North of the Stavropol territory and Western sectors of the Ivanovo and Kostroma regions.

Special attention will be paid to the Eastern sector of the Moscow region, Tambov and Ryazan areas. The forest service will monitor the situation in the Volga region in Saratov, Penza, Orenburg and Samara regions, and in Mordovia.
