Bushfire at Cape Le Grand, National Park closes

AUSTRALIA – Campers in Cape Le Grand National Park are being advised to leave the area after authorities released a Bushfire Watch and Act.
A number of roads have now been closed, including Cape Le Grand Road, Dunns Road, Wylie Beach access, Hellfire Bay Road and the Coastal Walk Trail between Le Grand Beach and Hellfire Bay.
Cape Le Grand National Park has been closed and crews are actively fighting this fire.
It is understood water bombers have been brought to Esperance today and are on scene.
In a statement released today, February 21, the Shire of Esperance extended thanks to Esperance Bushfire Brigades, Parks and Wildlife Service, DFES and Esperance SES for their efforts in responding to and containing numerous bushfires in the region.
Crews are still working to strengthen containment lines at Parmango Road.
The Kumarl fire, near Lake King Norseman Road, is being patrolled by local brigades and resources are being sent to the fire north of Frank Hann National Park.
Lake King-Norseman Road between Cascade Road and the Coolgardie-Esperance Hwy and Kumarl-Lake King Road between the Coolgardie-Esperance Hwy and Lake King-Norseman Road remain closed and there is no access to Peak Charles National Park.
Parmango Road is closed.

Parks and Wildlife Service have issued an alert after a fire started in Cape Le Grand National Park about 7am on Thursday, February 21.
The cause of the fire is believed to have been lightning.
Although there is currently no threat to lives or homes, the department said there was a lot of smoke in the vicinity of Mount Le Grand and Hellfire Bay Road and the Coastal Walk Trail between Le Grand Beach and Hellfire Bay have been closed.
Motorists are being urged to avoid the area and be aware of emergency services personnel on the scene.
Motorists already in the area are being asked to be extremely careful when driving, to turn their headlights on, drive slowly and watch for emergency services personnel and follow their directions.
If you cannot see clearly, pull over, keep your headlights and hazard lights on, and wait until the smoke clears.
