Australia — A BEEKEEPER has sustained serious burns trying to put out a grass fire near Mt Compass this afternoon.
A Country Fire Service spokeswoman said the man, 50, was mowing grass around beehives at a property at Yundi when the fire started about 2pm.
The man sustained burns to his face, hands and arms and has been flown to hospital in Adelaide by the Medstar emergency helicopter.
Firefighters took about an hour to contain the blaze.
