Canada — One man has been transported to hospital after suffering burns in a southeast fire.
CFD members responded to reports of a fire at approximately 2:20 p.m. Friday at a location near the 6000 block of 68 St. S.E., near the Foothills Industrial Park.
Fire officials believe the fire originated in a truck, with the flames from the vehicle fire sparking the massive grass fire.
The driver of the truck attempted to return to his vehicle to retrieve some items. While entering the vehicle, the man suffered burns to his face and shoulders.
EMS transported the truck driver to the South Health Campus.
Fire crews have made significant progress in extinguishing the blaze and remain on scene dousing hot spots. Investigators are preparing to conduct a survey into the full extent of the damage. Officials do not believe any buildings were damaged in the fire.
