Wildland Fire Severely Burns Calif. Woman

USA — A wildfire severely burned a woman Saturday afternoon in the Yuba County community of Loma Rica.
The woman whose name was not immediately released was taken by ambulance to a hospital in Marysville.
The fire started near the intersection of Scotts Grant Road and Loma Rica Road. Firefighters on scene tell KCRA 3 that it appears to have been caused by someone mowing grass in the area.
The fire burned 22 acres of hilly grass and brush. Firefighters say it destroyed one home, may have caused a propane to explode at that location, and severely injured the woman who lives there.
“I was very surprised when I saw the lady come walking out of the driveway with fire all around her,” said David Davis of Cal Fire, who was one of the first firefighters to reach the scene.
“I yelled at my firefighters to grab her and get her out of there. I was amazed that she was even walking,” Davis told KCRA 3.
Four outbuildings and a car were also destroyed in the fire.
Loma Rica is located about 16 miles northeast of Marysville.
