UK — Ten roads around Bracknell are closed this morning following a forest fire between Crowthorne and Bracknell.

Firefighters from Bracknell Fire Station and appliances from London, Hampshire and Surrey have spent the night tackling flames in Swinley Forest.

The following road are closed this morning:

– Bracknell Road junction with Brookers Row

– Owlsmoor Road junction with Rackstraw Road

– Old Wokingham Road junction with Brookers Row

– Nine Mile Ride junction with Look Out

– Harmansworth roundabout junction with Mill Lane

– Foresters Way junction with Magdelene Road

– Old Wokingham Road junction with Nine Mile Ride

– Owlsmoor Road junction with Even Road

– Bracknell Road junction with Old Wokingham Road

– South Road Junction with Nine Mile Ride

Some schools in Crowthorne are closed today as a result of the fire including Edgbarrow School Crowthorne Primary School and Wildmoor Heath Primary School.

The Look Out Discovery Centre, Coral Reef Waterworld and Edgbarrow Sports Centre are also closed.

Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service said 13 homes in the Brookers Row area were evacuated as a precaution but there are no current plans for any further evacuations.

Residents are advised to keep their windows closed in areas affected by smoke and all members of the public are asked to avoid the area for their safety.
