Russia — Emergency crews in the central Russia are stepping up peat-bog flooding efforts to prevent a recurrence of last years wildfires.
According to deputy chief of the Russian Emergencies Ministry Alexander Chupriyan, dozens of hectares of peat-bog areas have already been flooded.
Last year, the choking smoke from peat-bog fires caused by the abnormal heatwave blanketed the sky over Moscow and other cities for weeks.
