Fire Claims 5 Lives in Sella Limba

Sierra Leone — Newspaper reports say five people are reported death on Sunday February 20 2011 at Kathambi Village located twelve miles off Kamakwie in the Sella Limba, Bombali District, when a wild bush fire engulfed them.

Reports quoting the Station Manager for Radio Okentun FM 94.0 Sheriff Turay says people are in the habit of putting fire in the bush up country, citing especially when farming works is about to start.

Turay is reported to have revealed that the victims were busy fishing when they saw the fire and were about to escape when unfortunately the fire spread wild and surrounded the fish pond where they were fishing and the smoke suffocated them to death.
