Indonesia — A massive fire rages in Krankun forest area along the Line of Control (LoC) in Karnah sector of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district destroying hundreds of trees.

Reports said that a massive fire has engulfed Krankun forest division in Karnah along the LoC in the frontier district resulting in damages to wildlife and hundreds of trees. The fire is rapidly spreading to the dense forest area, even as the fire fighters have launched a massive operation to douse the flames.

Pertinently, the fire started from compartment no 6 of the Kamraj forest area early this week. The fire had damaged thousands of trees in forest compartment areas of 79, 80 and 26. Although fire was controlled in the Kamraj division, the raging flames in the Krankun have added to the worries of the fire fighters.
