Trinidad/Tobago — Two people received medical treatment after a backyard grass fire got out of control Tuesday afternoon.
The fire occurred on the 2600 block of Edisto Drive in Orangeburg and was brought under control within two minutes by fire officials, said Capt. Mike Adams of the Orangeburg Department of Public Safety. The fire threatened a structure but was put out before it reached the structure, he said.
The two people injured in the fire were transported to the Regional Medical Center for treatment. Adams said the injuries were not considered life-threatening.
ODPS received the call at about 2:35 p.m., and the scene was cleared by 3:10 p.m., he said.
The department responded with a fire truck and two brush trucks, Adams said.
