Fire fighters extinguish flames close to Krichim, Southern Bulgaria

Bulgaria — The flames in the southern municipality of Krichim have been contained, but the fire fighters are putting out the fire raging in a peat area, Georgi Kunev, spokesman for the Fire Safety and Rescue Service in the district of Plovdiv, told FOCUS News Agency.

He added the situation had improved. Some 40 people – fire fighters, forestry workers and Civil Protection workers – are extinguishing the fire. They expect it will be put out completely by the end of the day.
