Australia — The fire started in the flats on Bob Hewitt’s property near Camperdown on February 7.

He says he put water on the flats every day, but it was not until the good rain arrived this month that the fire finally went out.

“The cooler weather and we’ve had good rains over the last fortnight and that’s certainly played a part,” he said.

“Without the cooler weather coming and the rains we’ve had, we’d probably be still down there.”
