Wales, United Kingdom — Fire crews have won their battle to put out a wild fire which spread across 30 hectares (75 acres) of mountain, causing 14 homes to be evacuated.

Crews had spent 30 hours working to contain the blaze on Baglan Mountain, Port Talbot, which spread after breaking out on Thursday.

Some 30 residents in Glen View Terrace had to leave for around two hours during the early hours of Friday.

Rain on Friday night helped crews in extinguishing the outbreak.

Up to 40 firefighters had fought to stop it spreading through gorse and grassland to the other side of the mountain.

An investigation into the cause of the fire is to be launched
