Australia — A bushfire continues to burn about 38 kilometres from the township of Waratah on Tasmania’s west coast.

The fire has burnt approximately 13,500 hectares of state forest in the Donaldson River Nature Recreation Area.

Also affected is the Arthur-Pieman Conservation Area and the Savage River Pipeline Forest Reserve.

The fire is smouldering in areas of dry forest and rainforest.

Parks, Forestry and Fire Service crews are mopping up the southern end of the fire on the Pieman River near Corinna.

The Western Explorer Road remains closed to the public.
