MADURAI: Fire broke out at a reserved forest area, charring thousands of trees near here on Sunday.
Due to the fire at the Vaguthamalai forest area near Alanganallur, many parts of Alanganallur were engulfed in smoke posing a lot of hardship to the residents.
Fire personnel brought the situation under control after three hours of fighting. Forest and police department officials were probing into the cause of the fire.
