Center forcountering disasters to be created in Europe

Gelendzhik, 2 September 2004 (Interfax) – An aviation unit for fighting fires and other disasters will be created in Europe in 2005 based on a project initiated by Russia, deputy Russian Emergency Situations Minister Yury Brazhnikov told Interfax at the Gidroaviasalon 2004 international exhibition which opened in Gelendzhik on Thursday. Russia will take active part in creating the unit, Brazhnikov said.
