Fires in Australia
25 February 2009
Australia braces for more bush fires. With temperatures already rising into the mid 30s Celsius (95F) across parts of Victoria, bushfires have flared up again and are being fanned by strong winds. This MTSAT satellite image taken at 0730 UTC on February 24 shows some smoke from the fires blowing northeast and also east over Tasman Sea.
