Fires in Russia and Mongolia

The MODIS satellite image taken at 0520 UTC on 7 April shows numerous fires are burning in southern Russia and northern Mongolia. These fires are probably agricultural areas doing early spring clean up for the uncoming growing season. Mountaintop snow still can also be seen in Russia.
