Forest Fires in Central America

5 April 2000


The NOAA AVHRR satellite imageries of 4 April 2000 reflect the overall fire situation in Central America as it was highlighted in the reports from Honduras on 31 March 2000, and Central America on 1 April 2000 and 4 April 2000. The images show smoke plumes and active fires burning in México, Belize, Guatemala and Honduras. The majority of fires are land-use fires in the lowlands.
