Expert Meeting on “Space Technology for Flood and Fire Management” –
Córdoba, Argentina – 24-26 November 2003

Argentina’s Comisión Nacional de Actividades Espaciales (CONAE) will be hosting the next Expert Meeting with the support from the European Space Agency and our Office. The venue will be the Instituto de Altos Estudios Espaciales “Mario Gulich” in Cordoba and the meeting will take place from 24-26 November 2003. The focus of this meeting will be the use of space technology for early warning of floods (including the Del Plata Basin Project) and early warning of fires (including a discussion on the Latin American Fire Risk Map). For this meeting 25 experts will be invited from institutions that are currently developing projects or are interested in developing projects within the extended Southern Cone region (Argentina, Uruguay, Paraguay, Chile, Bolivia and Brazil). Limited funding is available to support travel expenses of experts representing institutions from the countries listed.
