The upper image is the true color of the satellite image, it shows some smoke pushed north by the predominating winds. The lower false color image shows the living vegetation in green and the burned vegetation in red-brown. The red dot indicate hotspots where MODIS detected unusually warm surface temperatures associated with fire.
