Mexicali.- Con una afectación hasta el momento de 18 mil 770 hectáreas se mantiene el incendio forestal en Cañón de Jamatay sobre Sierra de Juárez mismo que desde el 26 de junio se ha ido alimentando con arbustos, pastizales y arbolado, reportó el Titular de la Gerencia Estatal de la Comisión Nacional Forestal en Baja California, Sergio Avitia Nada.
En su apreciación el Gerente dijo que este incendio es uno de los mayores registrados en los últimos años en el Estado y solicitó a las autoridades locales, estatales y federales, enviar más recursos humanos y materiales para hacer frente al siniestro.
Además se hizo un llamado a la población para que contribuya voluntariamente con donaciones de alimentos no precederos y agua embotellada, para llevar a la Delegación de Real del Castillo (Ojos Negros) en Ensenada, o bien entregar directamente en las oficinas de la Comisión que se tiene en Mexicali en boulevard Lázaro Cárdenas kilómetro 11.5 en el Fraccionamiento Bugambilias o comunicarse al teléfono (686) 906-22-95).
