Jamaica — Five people have been left homeless as a result of raging fire in the Crag Hill area of St Andrew, that destroyed two houses.
The householders have lost everything, Norman Grant, the president of the Jamaica Agricultural Society, told OBSERVER ONLINE. Craig Hill is just above Gordon Town.
The houses were destroyed as a wildfire continues to ravish sections of the hilly area.
Soldiers and firefighters are currently on the scene battling the blaze.
The blaze is believed to be part of the fire that broke out in the Mavis Bank area last Saturday, which spread this week to Flamstead District and adjoining communities.
The fire has so far devastated more than 400 acres of land in the areas of Mavis Bank and Flamstead. A number of other communities have been affected.
