Argentina — The fire started 15 hours ago, after lightening struck close to the Espejo Lake. More than 25 firefighters and two air teams were deployed and are still working to stop the flames.

Difficulties arose due to the awkwardness of the location, which is close to ‘Small hill’ near to Espejo Lake in Neuquén.

The cause of the fire was the arrival of an electrical storm yesterday evening, where lightening struck the local area around the zone of the hill. The affected areas included those close to San Martín de los Andes and Villa La Angostura.

Due to the intensity of the fire, the eleven fire fighters originally working was not quite enough, and another brigade of fourteen was called in. The fire is still intense and out of control, and it is uncertain still how much of the area has been affected.
