Brunei — Ministry of Development through the Environment, Parks & Recreation Department will be hosting the 7th Technical Working Group (TWG) meeting on ‘transboundary Haze Pollution’, and the 7th Sub-Regional Ministerial Steering Committee (MSC) meeting on ‘transboundary Haze Pollution’, on 28-29 April, 2009 at Member’s Grill, The Empire Hotel and Country Club.
The 7th Technical Working Group Meeting on Transboundary Haze Pollution is a meeting between Asean Environment senior officials regarding the “7th Sub-Regional Ministerial Steering Committee on Transboundary Haze Pollution”, which will be attended by ASEAN Environment Ministers.
The agenda of the (TWG) meeting includes election of vice chairperson, review of fire and haze occurrences and forecast of meteorological conditions, report on ” ASMC workshop on enhancing the regional weather and haze”, relevant decisions of ASEAN meetings (Asean Secretariat), Indonesia’s comprehensive plan of action in dealing with transboundary haze pollution, update on fire and haze situation in the Mekong sub-region (Thailand), collaboration between Singapore and Indonesia in Jambi Province and collaboration between Malaysia and Indonesia in Riau Province.
Other matters include setting the date and venue of the 8th Meeting of the Sub-Regional Ministerial Steering Committee on Transboundary Haze Pollution.
