USA: Forest Service Aids Biomass Industry

The Forest Service testified at a House Forests Subcommittee hearing 10 April 2001 that stumbling blocks exist for the new industry founded upon the use of small-diameter trees and woody debris from national forests to cut back on the risk of wildfires. To clear these hurdles, the Forest Service is developing technologies to help private industry use the wood products.
