USA – The Kaho’olawe Island Reserve Commission lost several buildings, water catchment tanks, all-terrain vehicles, water crafts, irrigation supplies, restoration equipment, and planting materials in the fire.

A massive brush fire on Kaho’olawe is finally over, after more than a week. The Kaho’olawe Island Reserve Commission (KIRC) says just under 9,000 acres, roughly a third of the island, burned. It says the Maui Fire Department  told staffers, the perimeter of the burn is secure, and the rain over the last few days helped put out the fire.
