Forest fires in Tyrol: Fire department on Monday in continuous activity

AUSTRIA – Ötztal station, Thaur, Amlach, Kappl – The Tyrolean fire brigades had their hands full on Monday. There were four fires to fight.

Also on Thaurer Roßkopf the forest burned on Monday afternoon. A lightning strike may have set several bushes on fire. The fire was fought from 15:44 clock by the fire department Thaur and colleagues from Absam and Hall, a total of 50 Florianijünger were in use. The fire had not been fully extinguished on Monday evening, but it was not possible to reach any more deep-rooted embers. Only on the later Monday evening, at 20.30 clock, there was “fire out”. In action was also the professional fire brigade with a vehicle, the team of the helicopter Dragonfly and the rescue. The forest has already been checked with a thermal imaging camera.

AUSTRIA -Ötztal Bahnhof, Thaur, Amlach, Kappl – Die Tiroler Feuerwehren hatten am Montag alle Hände voll zu tun. Gleich vier Brandherde galt es zu bekämpfen.

Erneut brannte es in Amlach, wo die Feuerwehr bereits am Sonntag nach den Herz-Jesu-Feuern im Einsatz stand. Auch in Kappl brannte es. In beiden Fällen entdeckte die Feuerwehr die Brandherde selbst und schlug Alarm. In Kappl waren der Flugdienst Landeck sowie die Libelle Tirol im Einsatz. Ein Blitz dürfte südlich des Ortsteiles Ulmich auf einer Seehöhe von rund 2500 Metern zum Brand geführt haben. Dieser konnte gegen 21.30 Uhr gelöscht werden. Im Einsatz standen 60 Kräfte der Feuerwehren Kappl und Landeck sowie ein Hubschrauber.

Löschhilfe aus Kärnten

In Amlach musste die Libelle aus Kärnten aushelfen. Hier war nach neuen Informationen wohl ein Blitz für den Brand verantwortlich. Der Brandherd befand sich 200 Meter unterhalb des Rauchkofels auf 1910 Metern Seehöhe. 30 Feuerwehrleute der Wehren Amlach und Nikolsdorf sowie zwei Hubschrauber standen im Einsatz. Die Löscharbeitern mussten gegen 22 Uhr aufgrund der Dunkelheit unterbrochen werden. Eine Kontrolle der Brandstelle wurde in der Früh wieder aufgenommen.

Auch am Thaurer Roßkopf brannte der Wald am Montagnachmittag. Ein Blitzschlag dürfte mehrere Büsche in Brand gesetzt haben. Das Feuer wurde ab 15.44 Uhr von der Feuerwehr Thaur und den Kollegen aus Absam und Hall bekämpft, insgesamt waren 50 Florianijünger im Einsatz. Vollständig gelöscht war das Feuer am Montagabend noch nicht, tiefer im Erdreich gelegene Glutnester konnten noch nicht erreicht werden. Erst am späteren Montagabend, gegen 20.30 Uhr, gab es „Brand aus“. Im Einsatz stand auch die Berufsfeuerwehr mit einem Fahrzeug, das Team des Hubschraubers Libelle und die Rettung. Das Waldstück wurde bereits mit einer Wärmebildkamera überprüft.

In einem flacheren Waldstück in der Nähe des Friedhofs brannte es am Montagnachmittag in Ötztal Bahnhof. Brandursache dürfte eine achtlos weggeworfene Zigarette gewesen sein. Die Freiwillige Feuerwehr konnte den Brand auf rund 50 Quadratmetern Fläche zum Glück rasch löschen. (TT.com)
