PERU – The National Service of Natural Areas Protected by the State (Sernanp) reported that thanks to the forest firefighters and park rangers it was possible to control the high intensity forest fire that was unleashed nine days ago in the Tumbes National Reserve.

This catastrophe affected at least 380 hectares. For such a reason, Sernanp personnel indicated that they are evaluating the damage to restore the area, starting on October 9.
