ECUADOR/BRAZIL/COSTA RICA – With the objective of elaborating a proposal to establish the technical and institutional guidelines for the integral management of fire in conservation areas of Ecuador, through the strengthening of capacities in the management of prevention, control and remediation of forest fires, among the 10 and on September 12, a trilateral cooperation workshop was held with representatives of Germany, Brazil and Costa Rica, within the framework of the implementation of the Amazon without Fire Program in our country, with the support of the Climate Change, Biodiversity and Sustainable Development Program (ProCamBio II) of the German Society of International Cooperation in Ecuador.
In the process of construction of this proposal, a triangular cooperation methodology was applied that allowed the exchange of experiences and the transfer of knowledge of the governments that offer the support and technical assistance to Ecuador, the beneficiary country, in the interest of sustainable development. Likewise, public policies aimed at the conservation of ecosystems were proposed through responsible alternatives for the use of fire, training courses and technology transfer.

Ecuador trabaja en el fortalecimiento de capacidades para el manejo integral del fuego en áreas de conservación
ECUADOR – Con el objetivo de elaborar una propuesta para establecer los lineamientos técnicos e institucionales para el manejo integral del fuego en áreas de conservación del Ecuador, por medio del fortalecimiento de capacidades en la gestión de prevención, control y remediación de los incendios forestales, entre el 10 y el 12 de septiembre, se realizó un taller de cooperación trilateral con representantes de Alemania, Brasil y Costa Rica, en el marco de la implementación del Programa Amazonía Sin Fuego en nuestro país, con el apoyo del Programa Cambio Climático, Biodiversidad y Desarrollo Sostenible (ProCamBio II) de la Sociedad Alemana de Cooperación Internacional en Ecuador.
En el proceso de construcción de esta propuesta, se aplicó una metodología de cooperación triangular que permitió el intercambio de experiencias y la trasferencia de conocimientos de los gobiernos que ofrecen el apoyo y la asistencia técnica al Ecuador, país beneficiario, en aras del desarrollo sostenible. Así mismo, se plantearon políticas públicas orientadas a la conservación de los ecosistemas mediante alternativas responsables del uso del fuego, cursos de entrenamiento y, transferencia de tecnología.
Para el subsecretario de Patrimonio Natural, Alfredo López, “el trabajo en conjunto es de vital importancia, pues permitirá mejorar el enfoque de la gestión forestal y todo lo que implican las acciones de planificación, control, mitigación y restauración. Estos espacios representan el esfuerzo común de la región para poder evitar los incendios forestales que representan un problema global”.
Por su parte, Daniel Segura, gerente del Programa Amazonia Sin Fuego, mencionó que “el taller cumplió con las expectativas de los participantes y el objetivo planteado en la realización de la propuesta del proyecto que será presentado ante Fondo Regional para la Cooperación Triangular en América Latina y el Caribe, financiado por el Ministerio Federal de Cooperación Económica y Desarrollo de Alemania (BMZ)”.
A través del apoyo del Ministerio de Relaciones Exteriores y Movilidad Humana, se enviará la propuesta de cooperación trilateral al Fondo Regional del BMZ en el mes de noviembre, y en el mes de enero se esperaría su aprobación para el arranque del proyecto. Esto tiene como objetivo facilitar a los países involucrados o afiliados, al aprendizaje conjunto y sistemático sobre las posibilidades y los límites de la cooperación triangular.
