USA – A brush fire is burning in the Mohave Valley area, with a plume of smoke visible from Lake Havasu City.
The Mohave Valley Fire Department says it has helicopters in the air and is asking residents not to fly drones around the fire.
The fire was at 25 acres and growing at 6 p.m.
According to the Mohave Valley Fire Department, the blaze is burning in the area of South Dyke and the Havasu National Wildlife Refuge. The Bullhead City and the Fort Mojave Mesa fire departments, along with the Arizona State Department of Forestry, have crews working to fight the fire.
Mohave Valley Fire Department officials say the fire isn’t threatening any neighborhood, and people to stay away from the area.
Desert Hills Fire Department officials said Lake Havasu City-area agencies have not yet been called for assistance, but the fire is similar to the brush fires that burned in the area near the Havasu National Wildlife Refuge in 2015 and 2016 which required local assistance.
