Firetrucks ferried to Washington Island to fight grass fire

USA Door County authorities tell WBAY-TV the one-acre fire has grown to two-and-a-half acres. The blaze is near the Jackson Harbor Ridges State Natural Area.

The fire was reported around 2:15 p.m. Tuesday.

More fire units and ladder trucks from Door Peninsula are being ferried over to the island.

The U.S. Coast Guard also is assisting.
