Russia — Amur Oblast authorities have declared a state of emergency in all forests of the region. The state of emergency stipulates complete ban on visiting the forests and Bureyskoe reservoir, ban on rafting and floating along the Uril and Arhara rivers, the authorities’ press-service said.

Forest fires that have appeared one month earlier than usually, they are the main cause of the state of emergency. During the past three days some 48 forest fires spread in Amur Oblast forests. During the past day, some 14 forest fires have appeared. The most of the forest fires occurred in Zeisk, Shimanovsk, Skovorodinsk and Magdagachinsk regions.

Russia’s Ministry of Emergency Situations has sent additional forces in the region. The day before, the Beriev Be-200 Altair arrived in the region. During two days, the plane dropped 12 tons of water on the burning forests.
