Belarus — The President demanded to improve methods of preventing fires in the heat wave conditions. As the statistics show, the effect of the existing methods of fire prevention are below normal. Abnormal heat and lack of rain lead to extreme fire hazards in the country. Alexander Lukashenko noted that MES, Army and local authorities should work in the regime of high alert. Forests, peat bogs and agricultural facilities should be taken under strict control. According to weather forecasts, on the 7th of August the fifth class of fire danger is expected in the southern regions.

During the meeting teleconference was held with all regions of the country. Governors reported on the situation and the existing measures of fire prevention. Also Alexander Lukashenko demanded to bring order to recreation areas around the Minsk Sea. In addition, the question was raised about the need of developing a system of garbage collection and inadmissibility of polluting forests and coastal zones.
