Greece — A forest fire occurred at “Agios Nikolaos” region near Pylos, Greece, accompanied with explosions of old mines that are buried in the area, The fire broke out a few minutes before 2.30 pm. From the first moment tough battle with the flames gave 26 fire brigade vehicles and 60 firefighters. The fire started from the wasteland of Pylos and spread rapidly due to strong winds blowing in the area. So far, according to the Fire Service, about three hundred acres of forest land dominated by sparse shrublands were burned. The fire was put under control late evening.
