Norway — Finans Norge have calculated that the extensive fires in Lærdal and Flatanger may have resulted in damages estimated at a total of around NOK 400 million.
Insurance companies will in the end pick up most of the costs, according to the financial newspaper Dagens Næringsliv.
In Lærdal, Western Norway, nearly 30 buildings were destroyed, while in Flatanger 63 buildings were burned down in what started as a brush fire.
