Ghana — As part of early preparation for the Hammatan season in the Northern Regions of Ghana, ACI Construction and Coastal Restoration Limited a contractor to the SADA afforestation project, has embarked on radio advocacy programmes aimed at curbing the bush fire menace.

According to our news team, the first phase of the project estimated at GH¢ 10,000 is design to educate the general public on bush fire prevention measures during the annual 5 month dry season period.

The source further revealed their intention to strategically partner with other stake holders in arresting the situation.

This timely intervention has become necessary and a step in the right direction after a recall of last year’s incidents of bushfire which engulfed some fields of ACI Construction and Coastal Restoration leading to loss of quite a number of trees in their respective zones.

Last month a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was reached between SADA and the Faculty of Renewal and Natural Resources of the University for Development studies to audit trees planted by ACI Construction and Coastal Restoration Limited.

By their tied up contract with SADA, the giant company is required to plant 5 million trees for the first phase of the contract.

Information gathered indicate that, there is successful results and optimism of excellent delivery different from the notion of critics.
