USA — The search for a missing wildland firefighter has entered its fifth day Tuesday and there is still no sign of him.

Token Adams has been missing since Friday when he was scouting a fire in a remote area in the Jemez Mountains on an ATV.

He is a firefighter in the Jemez Ranger District and knows the area well, but failed to return with the rest of his group.

More than 250 people are actively searching for Adams again Tuesday.

They are circling around to areas already searched in hopes they can find some sign of Adams.

They are trying to get as much ground covered as possible before the rain moves in again.

Monday it grounded air support and hamper efforts much of the day.

Tuesday the search teams will enter trickier ground.

“We’ve covered all the easy territory so now we need to start looking in some of the canyons and things like that,” Linda Riddle said.

Searchers say they are still optimistic because of Adams’ training.

He has a pregnant wife and son waiting for him at home.
