Spain — The government of the Spanish Balearic Islands have said that the wildfire is out of control in Mallorca.
It has been reported that around 700 residents have been evacuated from the village of Estallencs as the winds have been fanning the fire along the hills towards the east.
The fire started slightly east of the leisure port of Andratx. It then moved along the northen forested park of the island. Roughly 360 firefighters and 26 water-carrying aircraft are battling the flames the government claims.
The hills where the flames are spreading, are known as the Sierra de Tramontana and many wealthy people occupy its residencies along the coastline. It is a place with amazing natural beauty.
