Mongolia — Two people killed and large area of grassland wiped out by steppe fire in Khentii province of Mongolia.
“Wildfire raged near the Kherlen town and claimed the life of a 75 and 50 year-old elderly people. The blaze was started by the smoker. About 10 x 10 km grassland area engulfed in fire. Firefighters put out the fire by
yesterday 5:00 a.m. The damage of the fire being under investigation” Colonial Ch. Batjargal (Head, Emergency Management Department of Khentii province) said.
