Forest fire in Gulmi brought under control

Nepal — GULMI: The inferno that was swallowing the forests in Resunga of Gulmi district has been brought under control last night after four days.
The fire started in the forest since Wednesday has destroyed most of the forests in Resunga, the religious and historical site of the district. The fire spread to more than 3,000 hectares of land, said District Police Office, Gulmi.
Nepal Army, Nepal Police and local people from around the place jointly worked to bring the fire under control.
The inferno engulfed some wild animals, precious herbs, and rare species of plants when it was not brought under control for long.
The historical temples, public shelters (pauwas), and other structures existing in the forest area were badly damaged by the fire.
