Spain — The first forest fire of 2013 was very quickly brought under control and extinguished last Monday.
The forestry commission (IBANET) were first on the scene with two of their fire engines. A helicopter was also sent to help.
The fire broke out in the pine trees of S’Arraco Andratx. A total of one hectare was destroyed in difficult conditions caused by strong winds. The fire was classed as a level 0 fire meaning there was no risk to any neighbouring residents.
