USA–– SAN DIEGO – Military ordnance training sparked a brush fire that blackened about four open acres in the northeastern reaches of Marine Corps Air Station Miramar Thursday.
The blaze began spreading shortly before 9:30 a.m. in the Sycamore Canyon area, east of Scripps Ranch and south of Poway, according to Marine Corps officials and the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department, which sent personnel to help military crews fight the flames.
The fire, which caused no structural damage or injuries, was fully under control by early afternoon, the MCAS Miramar public-affairs office reported.
