Belarus–– Volunteers build a dam in a channel to stop lake water from flowing out, at a marsh called Elnya, one of the biggest in central Europe, near the remote village of Budy, some 220 km (137 miles) north of Minsk August 7, 2012.
BirdLife Belarus (APB) volunteers build and repair dams in the marsh to raise water level in lakes, for protection from summer fires and to preserve a natural habitat for endangered birds in the region.
