Bulgaria– Belitsa. The forest fire between the villages of Babyak, Lyutovo and Galabovo in the southwestern municipality of Belitsa is localized as of 3:00 p.m. local time, announced the press center of the Interior Ministry.
Some isolated sections are to be put out. More than 500 people battled the fire on Wednesday. Police officers, forestry workers, two helicopters, a module for firefighting from the Defense Ministry and volunteers are working at the site. The fire engulfed about 4,000 decares. Thanks to the good coordination and cooperation between the institutions and local authorities the flames did not reach any settlement.
The firefighting close to Sokolnitsa hut, near the village of Asen in the municipality of Pavel Banya continues. The fire is burning on an area of about 200 decares. Mainly dry grass and bushes are on fire; a small section of the forest is affected, but there the fire is low. The area is rocky and it is hard to reach on foot and by any vehicle. Three teams of firefighters and 50 servicemen are putting out the flames. Firefighters and forestry workers are extinguishing a fire between the southern town of Velingrad and the southern village of Yungola. About 15 decares of young pine trees are burning. Cuttings are being made to limit the fire. The efforts are focused on stopping the fire from reaching a 100-year-old pine forest.
The fires in the municipality of Maglizh and village of Chernogorovo are put out. Firefighters are extinguishing fires close to the town of Devin, village of Levtsi and village of Zlatolist.
