India — A woman who had sustained burn injuries during the forest fire in Patalyun village in Pokra development block in Pauri district yesterday, died today during treatment.
The two other seriously injured women have been referred to Dehradun after being given primary treatment at the local government hospital. The Patalyun residents Veera Devi, wife of Kundan Singh, Asha Devi wife of Manwar Singh and Harshu Devi, wife of Bhagat Singh were admitted to government hospital late Monday night in seriously burnt condition.
Veera Devi died during the treatment while Asha and Harshu Devi have been referred to Dehradun in view of their serious condition.
According to family sources, the three women had gone to Godia village to enquire about the well being of an ailing relative. They were caught in the forest fire on their way back.
Upon hearing the screams of the injured women, the villagers rushed to their aid and rescued them. They were admitted to the government hospital, where during the treatment, Veera Devi, 48, succumbed to her injuries.
