Malaysia — Cameras that were set up to track movement of animals, has helped forest department officials to nab two men, who allegedly set ablaze a portion of Mudumalai wildlife sanctuary in the Nilgiris a week ago.
Officials said the images proved useful in tracing the duo to Muthanga along the Kerala-Tamil Nadu border, Press Trust of India (PTI) reported.
On being questioned, the duo purportedly confessed to their crime and said four others were involved, following which a search was launched for them, police said.
The gang’s modus operandi was to start fires in forests and wait for animals to flee the inferno and then catch them, they said.
