USA — The Humboldt Regional Occupational Program and Six Rivers National Forest are partnering to prepare students for a career with a wildland fire agency.
Those participating in the academy must attend an orientation on Wednesday at 4 p.m.
The course is scheduled to run Feb. 7 through March 28, Tuesdays through Thursdays, from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. There will also be two Saturday classes and one Sunday class from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. All classes are held at the Glen Paul School, 2501 Cyprus Ave. in Eureka.
The completion of the academy meets the requirements of a type 2 national wildland coordinating group firefighter.

Call 445-7021 to register for the academy. Pre-registration is mandatory. There is no fee to register for the academy.
