Ghana– The Paramount Chief of the Santrokofi Traditional Area in the Hohoe North District of the Volta Region, Nana Letsabi is suggesting immediate summons for any traditional leader particularly sub chiefs under whose jurisdiction bush fires are often recorded. To him it is a customary obligation for every chief to ensure strict adherence by his people to anti bush fire regulations especially during dry hamattan seasons. Nana Letsabi made the suggestion when the Benkumhene of the area, Nana Tetteh Kalai swore an oath of allegiance to him at his palace. Nana Letsabi who is also the President of the Santrokofi Traditional Council is of the view that all sub chiefs should be able to monitor every movement by their subjects in their small areas especially the notorious ones. Nana Letsabi was full of praise for the people of Santrokofi-Gbodome for the peaceful and exemplary installation of Nana Tetteh Kalai. He ceased the opportunity to entreat his people to take advantage to register and check their particulars in the voter’s register when it is re-opened for verification so as to exercise their franchise in the general election in December. Nana Tetteh Kalai on his part pledged to help mobilise his people for developmental projects in the town.
